SCDOI Bulletin 2024-07: Licensure of Emergency Adjusters due to Hurricane Debby
Notice of Catastrophe Insurance Declaration for South Carolina to License Temporary Adjusters and Motor Vehicle Physical Damage Appraisers due to Tropical Storm Debby
This bulletin is issued to prepare for the impact of this emergency event on the State of South Carolina and its citizens. Based upon this unusual circumstance and the reports of significant, historic, massive and potentially catastrophic flooding, this Department has determined in
accordance with S.C. Code Ann. Reg. 69-1 that the licensure of temporary non-resident adjusters and motor vehicle physical damage appraisers may be necessary. Adjusters and motor vehicle physical damage appraisers will be available to assist with the evaluation of claims resulting from
this event for South Carolina residents immediately. This determination is effective immediately and will continue 120 days from the date of this bulletin unless otherwise extended by the Department. (+ More...)
YOUNG AGENTS CONFERENCE CANCELLATION NOTICE
IIABSC has been closely monitoring the progress of Tropical Storm Debby and after careful consideration of the storm's current path and forecast, the number of cancellations received, as well as weighing the risks and uncertainties involved, both the hotel and IIABSC have determined that it is in the best interests and safety of our members and partners to CANCEL the Young Agents Conference this weekend. Those who have not already cancelled their registrations will receive a full refund. If you have a current hotel reservation within our room block at The DeSoto, the hotel says they will cancel reservations for everyone at no penalty. We will soon be in touch with our Palmetto Partners and additional conference sponsors individually and will keep everyone informed of any additional YA news and/or upcoming opportunities.
