South Carolina Legislative Session Summary
The 2nd Legislative session of South Carolina’s 125th General Assembly began on Jan. 9, and adjourned sine die on May 9. As the second year of a two-year session, bills that failed to pass will have to be reintroduced and start the process anew in 2025. Legislators have returned for several special sessions and may return again before the end of the year. Included is a list of bills of interest to the insurance industry that have passed, some that received subcommittee consideration as well as a forecast of committee turnover and important issues for the next session.
