WATCH: FTC Noncompete Agreement Ban Explained

Late last month the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) issued a final rule prohibiting the use and enforcement of most noncompete agreements. The rule is slated to go into effect on Sept. 4 of this year. It does face some headwinds with lawsuits challenging its validity. Our awards banquet is a highlight of the annual convention, as important industry contributors are recognized. Here is your chance to nominate the next recipients of the Hayne P. Glover Jr. Agent of the Year, Young Agent of the Year and Industry Person of the Year awards. Recipients are nominated by other members and will be awarded at this year's annual convention to be held Oct. 13-15 at the Westin Resort & Spa on Hilton Head Island, SC. The first in the series is now available and qualifies for the 10% Loss Control discount: Policy Analysis - Reading, Interpreting and Understanding Insurance Contracts. Agents completing this course will be provided with an overview of contract law relating to insurance policy language and the understanding and interpretation of policy language. Included also will be the rules of reading policies, understanding how to read exclusions and exceptions to exclusions, and interpreting keywords and phrases.
