Effective July 1, 2019, Prometric will no longer be the Continuing Education administrator for the SC Depart. of Insurance and SC resident producers. The SCDOI, through the NAICs State Based System (SBS), will be new administrator.
Resident producers with a birth month through June 2019 will still be required to pay the $15 CE record-keeping fee to Prometric. Starting July 2019 and after the $15 record-keeping fee will not be charged However, course sponsors will have to pay a small fee under the SBS model so producers should expect a slight increase in course fees.
All resident producers will still need to meet the 24 hours of CE and renewal application requirements to maintain an active license. CE requirements can be found on the Department's website.
WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT ALL LICENSED PRODUCERS log on to SBS website to verify that CE hours listed are accurate.

As a reminder to resident producers, fingerprinting is not required at every renewal. If a resident producer was fingerprinted at initial licensure or for their last compliance period, fingerprinting is not required a second time as long as the license remains active.
