Last month during their Fall Leadership Conference, our national association installed Jon Jensen of Correll Insurance Group in Spartanburg, SC, as Vice Chairman of its National Board of Directors. Vaughn Graham was also installed as its new chairman, and Joe Leahy as chairman-elect.
The Big "I" National Board of Directors also elected Mike McBride of Mason McBride in Troy, Michigan as an at-large Executive Committee member. The new officers and at-large member join Executive Committee members John Costello and Bob Fee, as well as immediate past chairman Spencer Houldin, on the 2017-2018 Executive Committee.
Jensen is president of Correll Insurance Group, headquartered in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He has long been a leader in the South Carolina agent and business community, serving on committees of the South Carolina Department of Insurance and as chairman of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of South Carolina. He also served as South Carolina director on the Big "I" National Board of Directors. At the national level, Jensen is past national chairman of the InsurPac Board of Trustees and past chairman of the Government Affairs Committee.
Jensen is an active leader and philanthropist in his community. He serves on various boards, including the Spartanburg Regional Health System Foundation – Cancer Division, SRHSF Grants and Allocation Committee, and is a founding member of its Legacy Society. Jensen is a graduate of Appalachian State University's insurance executive program.
Graham is president of Rich & Cartmill, Inc., headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Previously, he served as chairman of the Independent Insurance Agents of Oklahoma (IIAO), which recognized him in 2012 with its highest honor, the Eagle of Excellence Award.
At the national association level, Graham has chaired the IIAA Member Services Board since 2009. In addition to serving on the Big "I" National Board of Directors and the Big I Advantage®, Inc. Board of Directors, he was a trustee on the InsurPac Board of Trustees and a member of the Agents & Brokers Roundtable. Graham remains active in his community with charitable and civic organizations. He is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and resides in Tulsa, Oklahoma with his wife Candace. They have two children.
Leahy is co-owner and founder of Leahy and Brown Insurance + Realty, Inc. in Springfield, Massachusetts, which he started with his wife Frances in 1989. He previously served as chief of staff to Massachusetts State Sen. Martin T. Reilly (D-Springfield).
At the state association level, Leahy was elected to the executive committee of the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents in 2001 and served as chairman in 2005. He also served as Massachusetts director on the Big "I" National Board of Directors from 2008 to 2013. At the national level, Leahy served on numerous Big "I" committees and task forces, including the Government Affairs Committee, the Tax Task Force and the InsurPac Board of Trustees. Leahy also serves on the board for numerous other professional and civic organizations in Massachusetts. He and Frances live in Northampton, Massachusetts. They have six children and seven grandchildren.
