IIABSC Vice President Becky McCormack, CPCU, CIC, AAI, AINS was honored for a lifetime of excellence in our association's education efforts with a Spirit of Education award, given during the Education Convocation section of the 2017 IIABA Fall Leadership Conference held in Chicago, Ill., Sept. 6-10.
Our education department was also given its sixth consecutive Diamond Level Excellence in Education award, recognizing state associations providing top-level education for their members in the key areas of class offerings, continuing education, professionalism, designation offerings, industry collaboration, planning, marketing and resources. Diamond is the highest level of recognition.
"Becky's tireless dedication to ensuring that quality education programs are available in South Carolina and at the national level continue to result in improvements and success," said Madelyn Flannagan, IIABA VP of Agent Development, Education and Research.
McCormack began her insurance career in 1984 after graduating from the University of SC with a double major in insurance and economic security and business management. Her experience prior to joining the team here at IIABSC in 1996 includes agency, underwriting and marketing. She instructs a wide variety of professional development courses in South Carolina and other states and also serves as Chair for the SC Continuing Education Advisory Board of the SC Department of Insurance.
The Spirit of Education Award was created by our national association's Agent Development, Education and Research Department to recognize a person or organization working closely with the national organization to deliver quality education to Big "I" members across a variety of platforms. The award was developed as a way to acknowledge the very generous contribution of time, energy, expertise and patience necessary to make an education program or offering successful.
