​​On November 27, 2017, Florida-based workers’ compensation carrier Guarantee Insurance Company was ordered into receivership for purposes of liquidation by the Second Judicial Circuit Court in Leon County, Florida. The Florida Department of Financial Services is the court appointed Receiver of Guarantee Insurance Company. Guarantee Insurance had business in South Carolina. All Guarantee Insurance policies are cancelled effective December 27, 2017.

The SC Guaranty Association is working with the Florida Department on South Carolina-based claims. Pharmacy benefits are currently still in place but medical benefits are not active at this point in time. Hardship requests can be made to the Florida Department of Financial Services.
