Defending champion Emily Hawkins (2018) of Lexington, N.C., won the Girls Division at the 50th and final Trusted Choice Big "I" National Championship at Daniel Island Club in Charleston, S.C. Connor Howe (2018) of Ogden, Utah, led wire-to-wire and captured the Boys Division title.
Hawkins completed the tournament at 1-under-par 287, withscores of 70-74-74-69. She got off to a hot start when she carded three birdies in a row on her first three holes.
Howe, who kept the lead after every round, was neck-in-neck with second place finisher Carter Pendley (2019) throughout the final round. The Robert Trent Jones Trophy recipient didn't feel comfortable until the last putt on No. 18. "He kept the pressure on me," said Howe.
Alice Hodge (2020) of Larchmont, N.Y., finished in second place in the Girls Division, as she carded a final round 2-over par 74 to finish 75-69-70-74––288 for the championship. Third-round leader Alexis Sudjianto (2019) of Charlotte, N.C., rounded out the top three, coming in with 1-over par in the final round to finish at 3-over 72-71-75-73––291.
Carter Pendley (2019) of Dalton, Ga., took home second place in the Boys Division, as he finished with a 72, good for 4-under par with rounds of 70-72-70-72––284. Cooper Parks (2019) of Campbellsville, Ky., finished in third at 1-under par in the final round to finish 2-under-par 71-76-68-71––286.
Boys played the Daniel Island Club at 7162 yards and a 75.5/144 course rating while the girls played 6047 yards and a course rating of 75.4/136. After round two, the Boys Division was cut from 98 to 54 while the Girls Division was reduced from 52 to 27.

SC junior golfers at national tournament
After four rounds, our SC boys div. champion Jonathan Griz tied for 5th place in the Big "I" Trusted Choice National Championship, held Aug. 6–9 on Daniel Island in Charleston, SC. SC players Jensen Castle, Elle Johnson and Levi Moody all placed among the Top 10 of their divisions.
